Special Project for Family Month in May: "Explore the Ecosystem of Jinju from 100 Million Years Ago"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Jinju Pterosaur Footprint Exhibition Hall in Gyeongnam will hold a special exhibition for the first half of the year, "Jjin! The Living Fossil Museum," to celebrate Family Month in May.
This special exhibition, prepared for children and the whole family to enjoy together during Family Month, will be available online from the 11th to the 26th via YouTube and SNS (Instagram, Facebook), and the exhibition hall viewing will be conducted as soon as the social distancing level is lowered.
Visitors can vividly experience the ecosystem of the time by simultaneously encountering footprint fossils of various animals that lived in Jinju 100 million years ago along with pterosaurs and dinosaurs, as well as living reptiles, amphibians, and birds.
In addition, the Jinju Pterosaur Footprint Exhibition Hall built diverse immersive content through the Public Museum Immersive Content Construction Support Project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last year, which will add fun along with the special exhibition.
A city official stated, "We hope this special exhibition will provide an opportunity to look into the ecosystem of Jinju 100 million years ago, even if only from home," and added, "We will continue to produce various video contents to provide safe exhibition viewing opportunities during the COVID-19 era."
