[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Mart announced on the 11th that it will exclusively sell a limited quantity of wines selected in collaboration with the current national sommelier, a first in the industry.
The two wines introduced this time are ‘Ab Lu C?ne C & Rouge’ (Ab Lu) and ‘Domaine Rapaz, Double Passage’ (Passage), both crafted by Jean-Marc Rapaz, a wine maker gaining the most attention in Europe.
Ab Lu is a product highly praised by the world-renowned wine critic Robert Parker as a wine with excellent cost-effectiveness worth buying by the box, while Double Passage has received a 4.2 rating on Vivino, a global wine information app, gaining popular acclaim.
Lotte Mart has prepared 12,000 bottles of Ab Lu and 6,000 bottles of Double Passage to be sold exclusively at all stores. These wines were pre-planned through multiple meetings and tastings since last year by Lee Young-eun, a French wine expert and head of Lotte Mart’s liquor team, and An Jung-min, the head sommelier of SPC Group.
A Lotte Mart official said, “As the number of customers seeking wine increases, we planned cost-effective wines considering the tastes of both beginners and enthusiasts,” adding, “We plan to introduce various products in the future so that customers can purchase even better wines.”
