[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 10th, the Democratic Party of Korea unilaterally convened the Personnel Hearing Special Committee to adopt the review report on the nomination of Prime Minister candidate Kim Boo-kyum.

Originally, a plenary meeting to adopt the report was scheduled for 2 p.m. that day, but Seo Byung-soo, the chairman of the special committee from the People Power Party, announced that he would not hold the meeting.

The Democratic Party requested the meeting to be convened based on the National Assembly Act, which allows a meeting to be held upon the request of at least one-quarter of the total members, and the meeting was held unilaterally by the ruling party around 4:45 p.m., 2 hours and 45 minutes past the scheduled time.

Special committee members from the People Power Party did not attend. The People Power Party has maintained a linked stance that it cannot agree to the adoption of the nomination consent bill for Prime Minister candidate Kim unless the issue regarding the disposition of three ministerial candidates judged as 'unqualified' is resolved.

However, since the approval of Prime Minister candidate Kim requires a plenary vote, considering the political impact, it is expected that the Democratic Party will find it difficult to adopt the hearing review report unilaterally.
