Chung-Ang University Graduate School of Communication (Formerly Graduate School of Journalism and Broadcasting), Recruitment of New Students for the Second Semester of 2021

The Graduate School of Communication at Chung-Ang University (formerly the Graduate School of Journalism and Broadcasting) (Dean Yoo Hong-sik) is accepting applications for the second semester master's program for the 2021 academic year until Sunday, May 16. The Graduate School of Communication at Chung-Ang University was established in 1980 as the first specialized graduate school related to newspapers and broadcasting in Korea.

The Graduate School of Communication at Chung-Ang University provides the best educational programs aimed at enhancing the expertise and capabilities of professionals in communication-related fields such as journalists, content creators, creators, advertising and public relations strategists, and brand communication experts. For the 2021 academic year, new students will be recruited for three majors: Digital Media Publishing, Broadcasting and Video New Media, and Strategic/Brand Communication, with selection through document screening and interviews.

The Graduate School of Communication operates night classes every Monday and Wednesday, and anyone holding (or expecting to hold) a bachelor's degree or possessing equivalent qualifications can apply regardless of their undergraduate major. Additionally, those who have completed one semester or more and earned six credits or more in the same (or similar) department (major) at domestic or overseas graduate schools are also eligible to apply for transfer admission.

The Digital Media Publishing major aims to cultivate talents in journalism and the digital media industry who possess practical problem-solving skills related to journalism, media creation, and next-generation advanced technologies. The education focuses on developing rich storytelling and big data content analysis abilities and strengthening the capacity to plan and produce digital media technologies based on these skills.

The Broadcasting and Video New Media major, in response to the cross-media era, aims to broaden understanding of new concepts of broadcasting and video new media content beyond traditional broadcasting video. The educational goal is to expand insight to adapt to the production base and broadcasting video distribution platforms in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The Strategic/Brand Communication major, established in 2020, offers a curriculum necessary for understanding various communication tools, including the existing fields of advertising and PR, and acquiring integrated communication planning skills. Through this, it provides the theoretical and practical knowledge required to train communication experts and strategists needed in corporate communication fields, including advertising and public relations.

There are also various scholarship benefits for new students. Scholarships are available for overall top students and top students by major, and outstanding new students will be awarded scholarships after review by the scholarship committee. Additionally, specialized scholarships are provided each semester for those working in related industries after admission, and scholarships are awarded to students with excellent academic performance during their studies.

The application period for new students is until Sunday, May 16. For more details, please refer to the Chung-Ang University Graduate School of Communication (formerly Graduate School of Journalism and Broadcasting) website or contact the Graduate School Academic Support Team.
