[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] HiteJinro announced on the 10th that it will hold a ‘Bread of Support’ sharing event to celebrate the successful opening of Breadgre 2nd branch in Gwangju. This event gained more significance as young people from Breadgre 1st branch in Changwon directly participated.

HiteJinro plans to sequentially deliver bread gift sets, consisting of signature items from Breadgre 1st branch such as pound cake and red bean bread, to young people and single-parent families affiliated with nine regional self-sufficiency centers including Gwangju Dong-gu Regional Self-Sufficiency Center and Gwangju Gwangsan Regional Self-Sufficiency Center starting from the 12th.

On the morning of the 10th, Kim Jung-se, director of Changwon Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, and Lee Soo-jung, director of Gwangju Dong-gu Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, held an online delivery ceremony for the ‘Bread of Support,’ commemorating the connection fostered through the youth support project ‘Breadgre’ and exchanging messages of encouragement.

The ‘Breadgre’ project is a youth self-reliance support initiative planned in 2020 by HiteJinro and public institutions to help low-income youth achieve independence and realize their dreams. Since its opening in Changwon, Breadgre 1st branch has steadily increased sales and established itself, with plans to expand the business by broadening the bakery menu.

Breadgre 2nd branch in Gwangju, a collaboration between HiteJinro and Gwangju City, is currently providing training in baking and barista skills to young people preparing for social independence. The goal is to offer youth the opportunity to operate Breadgre 2nd branch themselves for a certain period, helping them build a foundation for independence.

Kim In-gyu, CEO of HiteJinro, said, “We hope Breadgre will establish itself as a successful youth self-reliance support project in Gwangju following Changwon,” adding, “We will continue various supports and efforts so that young people, the future of our society, can have dreams and achieve social independence.”

Meanwhile, HiteJinro signed a ‘Startup and Job Support Agreement for Youth Self-Reliance in Gwangju City’ with Gwangju Metropolitan City last year, and plans to open Breadgre 2nd branch Gwangju in Dong-gu, Gwangju City, in July.
