[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Former Minister of Environment Yoon Yeo-jun, known as the "strategist of conservatism," believes there is a high possibility of the formation of a third force, including former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.

On the 10th, Yoon appeared on KBS Radio's "Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs" and said, "(If former Prosecutor General Yoon wants to enter politics) he needs to have a force. He cannot do it alone." He added, "If the public's disappointment with the two major parties is this significant, there is a sufficient possibility for a third force to emerge."

He explained, "The conservative forces represented by the People Power Party were judged through the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye. Even the Democratic Party forces, represented by President Moon Jae-in, or the progressive forces, suffered a great failure in governance and were judged by the public. Isn't that what was shown in the by-elections?"

He continued, "There may be ways to form a political party, or nowadays, what is commonly called a platform-type force can be created. Now, unlike in the past, there is also the means of SNS (social networking services), isn't there?"

Regarding the forces participating in the third force, he said, "I was originally someone who had no intention of entering politics and had almost no political talent." He added, "Everyone already knows that former emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in is an outstanding person, so in his case, that might be possible, but not for me."

He said the high public support for former Prosecutor General Yoon is due to anger toward the ruling forces. Yoon said, "People want a regime change out of disappointment and anger, but the party that should bring about the regime change has no suitable candidate. Through figures like Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae or Minister Cho Kuk, President Moon suddenly made the Prosecutor General a presidential candidate."

In that regard, he also predicted that support for former Prosecutor General Yoon will be highly volatile in the future.
