[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] CJ Logistics announced on the 10th that it has developed and officially launched the global integrated forwarding (international logistics brokerage) system called 'CubeBridge.'
Through CubeBridge, CJ Logistics has been able to integrate the forwarding systems of its Korean and overseas subsidiaries as well as its globally acquired family companies into one unified system.
CubeBridge applies technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to replace simple repetitive tasks, reducing work time and costs, and enabling the prediction of cargo ship arrival dates. It allows sharing of individual sales information to capitalize on sales assets and standardizes business processes globally to enhance operational capabilities.
The biggest feature of CubeBridge lies in its customer-friendly system that enhances convenience and reduces costs for client companies entrusting their cargo to CJ Logistics.
Client companies can request quotes to desired destinations through the CubeBridge system and directly select the most suitable shipping or airline company based on price and schedule. It provides functions to monitor the current status of air and sea export-import transportation stages worldwide in real time via web and mobile, manage cargo schedules, and receive cargo transport status notifications automatically via email and client portals.
When container cargo is placed in container yards, the system includes a notification feature to prevent additional charges after the free usage period expires, minimizing the possibility of unnecessary costs.
By introducing electronic document management functions, a paperless work environment has been established. The application of RPA and AI technologies automates simple repetitive manual paperwork, reducing work time and costs.
The system development took about a year, and subsidiaries in eight countries?Korea, the United States, China, Hong Kong, Canada, Japan, Vietnam, and Indonesia?have started using the CubeBridge system in the first phase. The scope of application will be expanded to all global subsidiaries and family companies in the future.
Meanwhile, CJ Logistics is strengthening the development and on-site application of advanced systems and equipment utilizing AI, big data, and other technologies. Recently, it developed 'eFlex,' the industry's first system capable of integrated management of the entire e-commerce process, and established the ‘CJ Logistics Cargo Tracking’ system that predicts cargo ship arrival times, doubling prediction accuracy. The ‘AI Robot Depalletizer,’ which moves goods via conveyor belts, was also commercialized for the first time in the industry.
A CJ Logistics official said, "In an era where advanced technological competitiveness equates to logistics competitiveness, we will lead the logistics industry through continuous development of overwhelming capabilities."
