[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] In Gyeongsangbuk-do, 19 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were added on the 9th, mainly in the Gimcheon area.


According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 10th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area was 4,337 (including 119 imported cases), an increase of 19 from the previous day.


The number of confirmed cases by region is 10 in Gimcheon City, 2 each in Andong City and Gumi City, and 1 each in Gyeongju City, Mungyeong City, Chilgok County, Yecheon County, and Uljin County.


Among the 10 new confirmed cases in Gimcheon City, 7 are contacts of Gimcheon case number 153, confirmed on the 8th. They are known to be related to work in a vineyard greenhouse. Two others were confirmed during self-quarantine following earlier confirmed cases, and the infection route of the remaining one has not been identified.


The 2 new confirmed cases in Andong City are contacts of Andong case number 247, confirmed on the 27th of last month, related to an Andong acquaintance gathering. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Andong acquaintance gathering to 37.


Among the 2 new confirmed cases in Gumi City, one is a contact of Gumi case number 561, confirmed on the 8th, and the other is a contact of Gumi case number 560.


In Gyeongju City, Mungyeong City, Chilgok County, and Yecheon County, residents who had contact with local earlier confirmed cases each tested positive. The new confirmed case in Uljin County has an unknown infection route.


In Gyeongsangbuk-do, 147 people (excluding imported cases) tested positive across the region in the past week, resulting in a weekly daily average of 21.0 confirmed cases. Currently, 232 people are under self-quarantine.
