Yeongdeungpo-gu 'Visiting Career and Academic Consulting' Program Operation

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyunil) announced that it will operate the 'Visiting Career and College Admission Consulting' program for middle and high school students in the area in collaboration with the Yeongdeungpo University Admission Information Center until November.

The 'Visiting Career and College Admission Consulting' is provided by a senior researcher (affiliated with JinHakSa) from the Yeongdeungpo University Admission Information Center, who has extensive experience and expertise in college entrance guidance. The researcher visits schools directly to offer customized admission consulting to students, helping them prepare systematically for their career paths and college admissions.

This year, the first round of consulting was conducted from May to June, and the second round will begin in October.

Consultations are held one-on-one between students and counselors in consultation rooms designated by each school from 2 PM to 6 PM on weekdays.

If desired, groups of 3 to 6 students can receive counseling together, and there is no limit on the number of consultation days.

For middle school students, consultations cover ▲ vision setting and study methods, correction of study habits, and ▲ selection of high schools for admission. For 10th and 11th graders, consultations include ▲ study methods and correction of study habits, and ▲ establishment of management methods for academic and extracurricular records.

For 12th graders, consultations mainly focus on ▲ exploring universities and departments available based on current grades and ▲ establishing study and application strategies to gain admission to target universities.

All consultations are conducted following strict COVID-19 prevention measures, including thorough pre-disinfection and ventilation of consultation venues, mandatory mask-wearing, hand sanitization, and other facility and personal hygiene protocols. Counselors are also dispatched only after confirming no fever or respiratory symptoms.

Schools wishing to participate in the consulting program should coordinate schedules with the Yeongdeungpo University Admission Information Center by May 14 and submit the designated application form via email (jinhakmani@gmail.com) or fax.

Since its opening in October 2014, the Yeongdeungpo University Admission Information Center has continuously operated motivational learning sessions, explanatory meetings for customized admission strategies, special lectures on study methods, and one-on-one individual counseling. It also provides ongoing learning coaching and customized individual counseling for early and regular admission processes.

Especially this year, an 'Online Consulting' service has been newly established through the center's website, allowing both students and parents to receive admission counseling in a safe and comfortable environment.

The University Admission Information Center's programs are available to all middle and high school students and parents residing in Yeongdeungpo-gu, and applications can be made through the center's website.

Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Chaehyunil stated, "I hope the 'Visiting Career and College Admission Consulting' will greatly help students establish study methods suited to themselves and systematic admission strategies," and added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support to offer customized admission counseling and practical learning information."
