Urban Regeneration and Social Economy Linked Resident Participation Policy Education Draws Attention... New Topics Monthly... Events to Promote Education and Encourage Participation... Coffee Voucher Prizes Included
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Cha Hyun-il) announced that it is strengthening public-private cooperation capabilities by opening the platform ‘2021 Yeongdeungpo Resident Cooperation Online Education,’ which gathers online education programs for cooperative governance in Yeongdeungpo in one place.
The ‘2021 Resident Cooperation Online Education’ platform is available to anyone interested in cooperative governance education, including local residents and public officials, and can be accessed through the official site URL.
The online education platform was developed focusing on Yeongdeungpo’s specialized educational content and programs tailored by education topics, stages, user age, and areas of interest, based on the pilot operation results conducted over three months from October to December last year.
To increase participation among middle-aged and older adults who are not familiar with online usage, the district planned customized programs by age segmentation and operates both online and offline methods to enable real-time interactive education.
Additionally, by providing programs linked to resident participation policy projects such as social economy, resident autonomy, and participatory budgeting, the effectiveness of education is enhanced, and various monthly events are planned to widely promote the site and encourage participation.
In particular, rich monthly educational content under the themes of ‘Cooperation Plus, Cooperation Multiply, Cooperation Share’ will be newly introduced.
‘Cooperation Plus’ consists of six episodes, selecting the most popular content among participants from last year’s resident cooperation online education, organized into lectures and field videos with continuous themes and content.
‘Cooperation Multiply’ is a four-session course that invites instructors according to specific topics in each field to conduct small-group lectures, aiming for high educational effectiveness through interactive communication.
‘Cooperation Share’ is conducted in the form of talk shows and resident participation education, holding two forums where experts from various fields share their experiences in cooperative governance.
All lectures are conducted through studio filming and a combination of online and offline methods to prevent the spread of COVID-19. During small offline sessions, strict adherence to quarantine rules such as social distancing and hand sanitization among attendees is ensured.
Cha Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “The ‘2021 Resident Cooperation Online Education’ site will establish itself as an open cooperative space where any resident interested in cooperative governance can freely visit and learn,” adding, “We will diligently implement various educational programs and support policies so that residents can easily understand the concept of cooperation and a culture of cooperative governance, where public and private sectors communicate and deliberate, can spread throughout society.”
