Recruitment of 10 Companies for Technology Protection Leading SME Development Program
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Foundation for Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture-Fishery Cooperation announced on the 9th that it is recruiting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the "Technology Protection Leading SME Development Program" in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
This program was introduced to enhance the capability level for protecting the core and innovative technologies of SMEs and is being implemented for the first time this year.
The program was established to address the issues of one-time and fragmented support resulting from SMEs applying for individual technology protection support projects. It is conducted targeting companies possessing core technologies such as materials, parts, and equipment to provide systematic support for strengthening technology protection capabilities. First, after a comprehensive diagnosis by technology protection experts, the plan is to nurture SMEs into "Technology Protection Leading SMEs" through step-by-step, customized support centered on the companies.
According to the foundation, 10 SMEs will be selected and nurtured on a pilot basis this year. After all support is completed, if the technology protection capability level is 75 points or higher, a certificate of "Technology Protection Leading SME" will be issued, and additional points will be granted for participation in technology development support projects.
Won Youngjun, Director of Technology Innovation Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "We plan to continuously expand technology protection leading SMEs with high technology protection capability levels through company-centered customized technology protection support," adding, "Strengthening the protection capabilities of SMEs' core and innovative technologies is a very important factor for continuous technological innovation of SMEs and enhancing national competitiveness."
Meanwhile, SMEs wishing to participate in the program can submit their application forms and required documents via email starting from the 10th. Detailed information can be found in the announcement on the Technology Protection Fence website. Phone inquiries are also possible at the Foundation for Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture-Fishery Cooperation, the dedicated technology protection institution.
