Dongdaemun-gu, Commemoration of the 49th Parents' Day with 'Filial Duty Public Official' Commendation
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) held an award ceremony on the afternoon of the 7th to commemorate the 49th Parents' Day, honoring public officials who have demonstrated exemplary filial piety by devotedly caring for their parents while also performing their duties with utmost dedication.
A total of four recipients were awarded: Kim Young-han, Head of the Sports Facilities Team in the Sports Promotion Division, received the Seoul Mayor's Commendation; Moon Won-hee, Head of the Cadastral Management Team in the Real Estate Information Division; Kim Sung-ja, Officer in the Clean Environment Division; and Yang Da-som, Officer in Jeonnong 2-dong, each received the Dongdaemun-gu Mayor's Commendation.
In particular, Kim Young-han, despite his own poor health, has cared for his father, who has mobility difficulties, for over 15 years, accompanying him to hospitals and nursing facilities with utmost devotion.
Additionally, he has been a model in his work by tirelessly dedicating himself to the construction of public sports facilities and improving convenience for residents. Kim Young-han stated, "I only did what was naturally expected of me, so I am not sure if I deserve this commendation. I will continue to take good care of my father and do my best in my given duties."
Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, expressed, "I hope this award ceremony will comfort the recipients for their hard work and contribute to fostering a workplace culture of filial piety, sharing, and consideration."
