'Nationwide Yellow Dust Impact'... Gangwon-do Urges "Avoid Going Out, Take Care of Your Health" Yellow Dust Invasion Immediately After the Rain Stops [Yonhap News]

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] On the 7th, as a yellow dust crisis alert was issued nationwide, Gangwon Province formed a situation room and requested cities and counties to respond to prevent damage to residents.

The province urged households to close windows to prevent yellow dust from entering indoors and asked vulnerable groups such as the elderly to refrain from outdoor activities, in accordance with the 'National Action Guidelines for Yellow Dust Occurrence.'

Additionally, educational institutions such as schools were instructed to prohibit outdoor activities, and farmers were advised to move livestock indoors to minimize exposure to yellow dust.

Earlier, the Ministry of Environment issued a yellow dust crisis alert at the 'interest' level for 10 cities and provinces nationwide, and at 2 p.m., upgraded the alert level to 'caution' for four cities and provinces: Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Chungnam.

According to the Ministry of Environment, this yellow dust is continuously flowing into the Korean Peninsula following the northwest wind, which may expand the alert areas, and is expected to affect the entire country until the 9th.
