Kyochon Honey Ladies Open Day 1: 6-Under Par, Kim Minseon 5 and Park Bokyem Tied for 2nd, Kim Haerim Tied for 9th 'Start'

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] Jihan Sol (25, Dongbu Construction) is on a winning streak.
On the 7th, at the West-South Course (par 72, 6,650 yards) of Island Golf Course in Daebudo, Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, the first day of the KLPGA Tour Kyochon Honey Ladies Open (total prize money 600 million KRW) kicked off, and she topped the leaderboard with a 6-under-par. Kim Minseon5 (26, Korea Land Trust), Park Bogyeom (23, Hana Financial Group), and Kwak Bomi (29, High1 Resort) are tied for 2nd place (4-under-par 68), while Song Gaeun (21, MG Saemaeul Geumgo) and four others are tied for 5th place (3-under-par 69), engaging in a chase.
Jihan Sol swept up six birdies without any bogeys. She started fresh with a birdie on the first hole, the 10th hole (par 4), followed by consecutive birdies on the 13th and 14th holes and a birdie on the 17th hole (par 4), reducing four strokes in the front nine. In the back nine, she secured the next round with clean play, including consecutive birdies on the 4th and 5th holes. Jihan Sol debuted on the regular tour in 2015 and won her first victory at the final ADT Caps Championship in November 2017. Leading by two strokes on this day, she seized the opportunity for her second career win.
Kim Haerim (32, Samchully), the "three-time consecutive champion" of the tournament, recorded three birdies and one bogey. Along with Park Hyunkyung (21, Korea Land Trust), the KLPGA Championship champ, Choi Hyejin (22, Lotte), Jo Ahyeon (21, Dongbu Construction), and In Jooyeon (24, Samchully), she started comfortably tied for 9th place (2-under-par 70). On the other hand, Lee Somi (22, SBI Savings Bank), the Lotte Rent-a-Car champ, tied for 40th place (even par 70), and Park Minji (23, NH Investment & Securities), the Nexen champ, was only tied for 68th place (2-over-par 74).
