[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-won] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 7th that it will operate a help desk until the 31st where taxpayers aged 65 and over and disabled taxpayers who have difficulty with electronic filing can simultaneously file comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax.
Since individual local income tax, which was previously filed at the tax office, was transferred to local government filing starting last year, taxpayers with comprehensive income for the year 2020 must file comprehensive income tax at the tax office and individual local income tax at the local government separately.
The county has set up a help desk within the Housing Price Survey Office in the Finance Department of the county office where national and local taxes can be processed at once without visiting the tax office, and the help desk is operated to support taxpayers aged 65 and over and disabled taxpayers.
Other taxpayers are encouraged to file electronically in a non-face-to-face manner using mobile (Sontax·Smart Wetax) and PC (Hometax·Wetax).
Electronic filing allows taxpayers to easily file and pay by clicking the ‘Individual Local Income Tax’ filing button after filing income tax on the National Tax Service Hometax, which links to Wetax.
Comprehensive income tax pre-filled filing targets (small-scale business owners) can file easily with a single ARS phone call, and individual local income tax is automatically recognized as filed when the payment amount on the received return form is paid.
Small business owners subject to assembly bans and business restrictions due to COVID-19, small-scale self-employed persons (below external adjustment), self-employed persons with sharply decreased sales in the lower income bracket, and benevolent landlords have their payment deadlines extended by three months until August 31.
Even if not subject to automatic extension, those who have suffered damage such as decreased sales can apply to extend the payment deadline.
A county official said, “To prevent COVID-19 infection, please be sure to wear a mask when visiting the help desk, and those who can file electronically are encouraged to use non-face-to-face electronic filing as much as possible.”
