Annual sales growth of 50-60%... Targeting 12 billion KRW this year, up from 5 billion KRW at the end of 2019
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] The health functional food shopping mall A-Palm Health's 'Petit&', which carries the catchphrase 'Health Functional Foods Made by Dad,' is emerging as a 'rising star' in the Daegu regional economy, with annual sales growth of 50-60%.
According to the business community on the 7th, the health functional food industry rapidly grew from 2 trillion won in 2016 to 4.9 trillion won in 2020. Especially with the COVID-19 issue increasing interest in health, the sales growth trend is becoming even steeper.
Meanwhile, the sales of 'Petit&,' a health functional food brand representing the Daegu region, increased from 5 billion won in 2019 to 8 billion won last year, and it is expected to smoothly achieve the target of 12 billion won by the end of this year.
A-Palm Health Petit& was established 10 years ago in 2012 by a Daegu native in his early 30s at the time, who decided to make folic acid for his pregnant wife.
The brand name 'Petit&,' combining the French word 'Petit,' meaning 'small,' with 'N' symbolizing extensibility, aptly reflects the product's characteristic of small pill size for easy swallowing.
CEO Huh Yong (41) said, "The motivation for starting the business was when I looked for health functional foods that my wife, who was sensitive during pregnancy, could take comfortably, and ended up designing nutritional components like 'folic acid' myself." He added, "We built the brand by considering various ways to provide health functional foods that can be taken without worry even during delicate periods such as pregnancy or infancy."
