"Candidates Park Jun-young and Lim Hye-sook Are Difficult to Overcome"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, said about Kim Boo-kyum, the nominee for Prime Minister who is undergoing a two-day confirmation hearing on the 6th and 7th, "I hope they pass him without a fiery hearing."
On the morning of the 7th, Ha appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said about Kim, "He has been in politics for a long time, is someone we know well, and has also undergone a confirmation hearing as Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety."
He explained, "For those who clearly have issues based on the materials, the hearing should be thorough, but for those who do not, they should just be passed. Instead of the opposition party always opposing and trying to block, they should show 'working politics' and 'big-hearted politics' to give hope to the people."
During the hearing on the 6th, Kim was criticized by lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties over allegations of family favoritism related to Lime Asset Management and a history of unpaid car fines and penalties.
However, Ha said about Park Jun-young, nominee for Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, and Lim Hye-sook, nominee for Minister of Science and ICT, "There seem to be problems," adding, "The illegality is quite strong, so it will be difficult to pass them."
The People Power Party decided on the 6th that Park, Lim, and Noh Hyung-wook, nominee for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, are 'unqualified' and will not agree to the adoption of the confirmation hearing report.
When asked, "Do you think the nominations of (Park and Lim) will actually be withdrawn or will they voluntarily resign?" he said, "If the Blue House says it will do politics that meets the people's expectations, they will probably make two people fall. It is difficult for the public to accept these two."
