[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute (KFTC) announced on the 7th that it has completed the first case of large-scale data linkage between Shinhan Financial Investment and Shinhan Card since being designated as a data-specialized institution by the Financial Services Commission.
This data linkage case combined large-scale pseudonymized data from the two institutions for the purpose of "analyzing financial investment tendencies through the linkage of financial investment transactions and card consumption records."
KFTC expects that the analysis results will be utilized to enhance the service competitiveness of financial companies and to develop customized products for financial consumers.
KFTC stated, "In the first half of this year, we plan to contribute to creating a safe data linkage and utilization ecosystem between the financial and other industries by providing free events and differentiated data linkage services, and will continuously support the discovery of various innovative cases based on data for financial companies and others."
