Creation of Dedicated Sales Spaces for 'Social Economy'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongsangbuk-do signed a 'Social Economy Win-Win and Development Agreement' at 3 p.m. on the 7th at Lotte Department Store Pohang Branch and held the opening ceremony of the 'Winuri Market' using the social economy joint brand.
Through this business agreement, Lotte Department Store will support human and material resources such as distribution systems and market influence to Gyeongbuk social economy enterprises, and Gyeongbuk Province will provide administrative and financial support.
Gyeongbuk Province and Lotte Department Store agreed to mutually cooperate for ▲establishing a dedicated social economy sales space (Winuri Market) within Lotte Department Store and building an online mall ▲distribution of social economy products and local specialties, special sales events, and other sales channel support ▲developing sales channels linked with overseas Lotte Department Stores.
According to Gyeongbuk Province, the 'Winuri Market,' which opened for the first time in a local department store and operated temporarily for about a month, recorded an average daily sales amount of approximately 2 million KRW, with an expected annual sales of about 700 million KRW. This is the result of a cooperative project first attempted nationwide in the social economy sector.
Yoon Hyung-jin, manager of Lotte Department Store Pohang Branch, said, "We will actively support marketing, information exchange, and sales channel development to revitalize the distribution of local specialties," adding, "As a major local distributor, we will help local social economy enterprises to become exemplary and leading cases."
Ha Dae-sung, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeongbuk Province, emphasized, "We plan to provide meticulous and continuous interest and support so that local governments and regional distribution companies, which are facing the crisis of economic decline and local extinction, can establish a great model to find solutions through the social economy."
