[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] From now on, the ‘Naver Certificate’ can be used on the Yonsei University campus.
Naver announced on the 7th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Yonsei University and Woori Bank for the ‘Smart Campus Construction Project and Joint Service Development.’
Naver, Yonsei University, and Woori Bank plan to apply the Naver Certificate to the university portal service and continue cooperation on Yonsei University-exclusive financial services, learning solutions, and more.
Initially, Naver will use the Naver Certificate to assist Yonsei University students with attending online lectures, checking attendance, and taking exams. After issuing the Naver student ID, various offline services such as library access, school facility entry, and book borrowing via QR code will also be discussed.
The Naver student ID will also be used for Naver services such as Expert and Band. For example, students who have received the Naver student ID can use online tutoring services for middle and high school students on Naver Expert or network with alumni in departments, clubs, and academic societies on Naver Band.
Graduates can also receive a Naver alumni ID and use alumni discount coupons available on Naver Shopping. Naver plans to provide services that link qualifications and academic information obtained by Yonsei University students and graduates to help with employment.
Naver, Yonsei University, and Woori Bank will discuss various ideas including ▲class schedule alarm services, collaborative assignment creation through group chat rooms ▲Yonsei Coin, a digital currency exclusive to Yonsei University ▲Yonsei Pay, usable in on- and off-campus commercial areas and transportation ▲AI and big data education and learning solutions.
Han Seong-sook, CEO of Naver, said, "Through the Naver Certificate, we will expand various practical uses so that students can authenticate themselves without separately carrying student IDs, certificates, or access cards both online and offline. We will strive to create synergy in the smart campus project, which is the first in Korea to bring together IT, finance, and universities."
