[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seung-jin] The Noryangjin Fish Market Citizens' Countermeasure Committee announced on the 6th that a total of 8 workers at Noryangjin Fish Market have tested positive for COVID-19.
The committee raised suspicions of concealment, stating that despite confirmed cases occurring within Noryangjin Fish Market, no notifications have been issued to residents of Dongjak-gu and Seoul citizens.
The committee claimed that although a week has passed since the first confirmed case on the 30th of last month, neither Dongjak District Office nor the Fisheries Cooperative has notified residents or provided guidance on quarantine measures.
In response, Dongjak-gu acknowledged that as of 2 PM the previous day, a total of 8 people including market merchants and sales staff have tested positive.
Dongjak-gu explained, "Due to privacy concerns, only the case numbers are listed on the district office website, and specific details such as which workplace is involved are not disclosed."
