LH President Kim Hyun-jun Visits Beondong Permanent Rental Housing "Expanding Medical and Care Services" Kim Hyun-jun, President of LH, visited the Beondong 5 Complex permanent rental housing in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul on the 6th, delivering commemorative gifts and flower baskets to seniors aged 100 and above to wish them good health.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced that President Kim Hyun-joon visited the Beondong 5 Complex permanent rental housing complex in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul on the 6th. The Beondong permanent rental housing is the first permanent rental apartment in Korea, occupied in 1990.

As the president of LH, managing 1.28 million rental housing units, President Kim inspected the residential welfare site and, in celebration of Parents' Day, delivered commemorative gifts and flower baskets wishing good health to the elderly residents of the rental complex.

This event was prepared by LH and the Korea Social Welfare Center Association to comfort the elderly suffering from COVID-19 and to support flower farms in overcoming the pandemic. President Kim, Nam Guk-hee, president of the Korea Social Welfare Center Association, and Lee Moon-young, president of the Housing Management Corporation, attended. LH plans to deliver a total of seven types of commemorative gifts, including adult walkers and summer clothing, to 126 elderly people aged 100 or older through 30 social welfare centers nationwide, including the Beondong rental apartments.

President Kim said, "It is meaningful to participate in the 'Sharing Filial Piety, Adding Love' event on Parents' Day," adding, "I hope that even a small token of sincerity can bring comfort to the elderly."

In particular, he expressed his commitment to improving residential welfare services and strengthening residential welfare functions.

President Kim emphasized, "To ensure that the elderly can live healthily and comfortably, we will expand integrated medical and care services and pay close attention to improving national residential welfare through the supply, operation, and management of rental housing."

Meanwhile, LH has been conducting a green remodeling pilot project since last year for about 10,000 households in eight complexes, including Daejeon Dunsan 3, to reduce housing costs such as heating bills caused by aging permanent rental housing and to create a pleasant residential environment. Starting this year, based on the results of the pilot project, LH plans to promote a green remodeling project for about 45,000 aged public rental housing units in 10 regions nationwide over two years.
