Sejong-si Opens Applications for COVID-19 Temporary Livelihood Support

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City announced on the 6th that it will begin accepting applications from temporary livelihood support regional recipients starting from the 10th.

The support targets low-income households whose income from January to May this year has decreased compared to 2019 and last year, and whose total combined income of all household members meets the income criteria of 75% of the median income (KRW 3,657,000 for a 4-person household) or less, and whose property value is KRW 350 million or less.

However, temporary livelihood support excludes households currently receiving basic livelihood security (livelihood benefits), emergency welfare (livelihood support), and those who have received COVID-19 disaster relief funds such as emergency employment stabilization subsidies this year.

Online applications for temporary livelihood support can be submitted from the 10th to the 28th via Bokjiro and other platforms. Online applications are only available to household heads and will be operated on an odd-even basis according to the last digit of the birth year.

In-person applications at Eup/Myeon/Dong offices can be made from the 17th of this month to the 4th of next month by household heads, household members, or representatives who bring their ID cards to the resident centers located in their area of residence.

After the application deadline, the city will conduct income and property investigations and verify overlaps with other projects, then pay cash to the applicant's account by the end of next month. The support amount is KRW 500,000 per household, paid once regardless of the number of household members.

Namgung Ho, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau of the city, said, “We hope that the temporary livelihood support will help low-income households in crisis who are struggling due to COVID-19, even if only a little,” and added, “We will strive to ensure that the temporary livelihood funds are paid quickly and accurately.”
