[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] An 18-hole park golf course that anyone, including children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, can enjoy has been established in Songdo International City, Incheon.

The official opening is expected to be possible from the second half of this year, considering the growth condition of the golf course's grass.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 5th that it has created a 28,000㎡ park golf course at Dalbit Park (from Convensia Bridge to Songdo International Bridge), adjacent to the Songdo coastal road.

Constructed in one year since groundbreaking in April last year, this park golf course has 18 holes, allowing various tournaments to be held. It is equipped with a parking lot for 100 vehicles nearby, and a 2.9 km walking trail and bicycle path have also been established in the vicinity.

Park golf is a concept combining the game elements of golf with a park, and it is a sport that anyone can enjoy in a small area, from children to the elderly, three-generation families, and people with disabilities.

Currently, Incheon operates 9-hole park golf courses in four locations: Cheongna, Yeongjong International City, Jangsu Reservoir in Namdong-gu, and Seonhak-dong in Yeonsu-gu.

Lee Wonjae, head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, expressed hope that "the park golf course and waterfront walking trail at Songdo Dalbit Park will become a good healing place for citizens exhausted by COVID-19."
