[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The original musical "Maybe Happy Ending" will open on June 22 at Yes24 Stage 1 in Daehak-ro, Seoul.
"Maybe Happy Ending" is set in the near future and tells the story of Oliver and Claire, highly intelligent 'Helper Bots' created to assist humans, who meet and come to experience 'love.'
The production gained popularity starting with its 2015 tryout performance, selling out during its premiere and encore shows. In 2017, it won Musical of the Year, Music, Direction, and Female Popularity Awards at the 6th Yegreen Musical Awards. In 2018, it also received Small Theater Musical, Script/Lyrics, Composition, Direction, Producer, and Best Actress Awards at the 2nd Korea Musical Awards.
Shin Sung-min and Lim Jun-hyuk have newly joined the cast as Oliver, who waits for his former owner. Jung Wook-jin, who has been with the production since the reading performance, will also return to the stage.
Hong Ji-hee and Haena have been newly cast as Claire. Han Jae-ah, who won the Best New Actress Award at last year's Korea Musical Awards for this role, will also appear again.
Seong Jong-wan and Lee Seon-geun will play James, Oliver's former owner.
Direction is by Kim Dong-yeon, and music direction is by Joo So-yeon.
