This project was implemented as a specialized project of the local community security council, and the beneficiary, Elderly Kim from Songhyeon 2-ri, was living alone without children in a poor earthen house without windows.
To improve the elderly person's living environment, Mr. Oh Jae-sam from Songhyeon 2-ri provided a new house free of charge for the elderly to move into, and members of the local community security council and the Cheonggye Youth Association (President Kim Dae-sung) volunteered to do wallpapering, floor mat replacement, bathroom repairs, and boiler relocation.
In particular, the Youth Association sponsored a wardrobe, washing machine, and gas range, and member Baek Seong-min (Hana Think) supported the sink, while member Lim Kyung-hwa provided dishes, adding warmth to the project.
Kim Dae-sung, president of the Youth Association, said, “I am glad that the elderly person has escaped from poor conditions and can live happily in a new home.”
Mayor Seo Myung-ho said, “I thank the council members and youth association members who stepped up after hearing about the elderly person's difficult situation,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to improve residents' welfare.”
