Gwanak-gu Early Establishment of Transparent PET Bottle Separation and Disposal System Expected to Promote Eco-friendly Clothing and Goods Recycling...Related Ordinance Revision, Smart Collection Box Installation, and Transparent PET Bottle Separation Day System Implemented in Phases
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) signed a "Transparent PET Bottle Resource Circulation System Establishment Business Agreement" with BYN Black Yak (CEO Kang Taeseon) at the Yangjae Office Building in Seocho-gu on the 3rd.
The agreement aims to establish an efficient resource circulation system through the early settlement of the transparent PET bottle separate collection system, which has been implemented since December last year, and the high-quality recycling of collected transparent PET bottles.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ promotion of the establishment of a transparent PET bottle separate collection and collection system ▲ linkage with recycled raw material companies for collected transparent PET bottles ▲ production of eco-friendly clothing and goods.
Through this agreement, the district will promote phased projects to establish a transparent PET bottle separate collection and collection system. First, by July this year, related ordinances will be revised in accordance with the mandatory separate collection of transparent PET bottles.
Also, for promotion and separate collection, smart collection bins for transparent PET bottles will be installed and operated at 10 community service centers in the first half of the year.
The smart collection bins recognize the barcode on transparent PET bottles, and when bottles are deposited, points are accumulated through a smartphone app. Depending on the points, mobile gift certificates for beverages, pizza, etc., are provided, which is expected to receive high response from residents.
In the second half of the year, a separate collection day system for transparent PET bottles and waste vinyl in single-family housing areas will be promoted (scheduled for December 25, 2021), and a circulation system linking transparent PET bottles from multi-family housing to be utilized by Black Yak will be reviewed and promoted.
Mayor Park Junhee said, "Through this agreement, we will establish a mutual resource circulation cooperation relationship and closely cooperate to ensure the early settlement of the Gwanak-gu transparent PET bottle separate collection system so that eco-friendly clothing and goods can be reproduced," adding, "Environmental issues must be solved through everyone's practice, so I hope residents actively participate in recycling and separate collection in daily life to create a clean Gwanak."
