Recruiting 182 People, Seoul's Largest... Apply by Visiting Dong Community Center by May 12... 6 Hours Work per Day, Up to 1.6 Million Won per Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is recruiting a total of 182 resource management assistants to contribute to improving the quality of recyclables through the separation and sorting of the rapidly increasing disposable items due to the rise in non-face-to-face consumption amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The "Resource Management Assistant" program is part of the Ministry of Environment's initiative to improve the quality of recyclables. By hiring resource management assistants and placing them at designated separation points in multi-family and single-family housing, they support the disposal of recyclables and promote proper sorting activities.
The district plans to hire 182 assistants, the largest number among all autonomous districts in Seoul, and approximately 2.1 billion KRW (90% national funds, 10% district funds) will be invested to ensure smooth project progress and effective outcomes.
Residents interested in the resource management assistant activities can apply by visiting their local community service center by May 12.
Any resident of Yeongdeungpo-gu aged between 18 and under 70 years old can apply, with preference points given to vulnerable employment groups such as female heads of households and those eligible for employment protection (support).
The working hours are 6 hours per day, with an hourly wage of 8,720 KRW plus separate support for lunch and transportation expenses, resulting in a monthly wage of approximately 1.6 million KRW.
The work period lasts until November of this year.
Through a first round of document screening and a second round of interviews, 182 final successful candidates will be selected and individually notified on May 28.
The selected resource management assistants will be evenly assigned to 192 multi-family housing complexes and 114 single-family housing recycling stations and clean houses in Yeongdeungpo-gu, where they will ▲ pre-sort non-recyclable items disposed of by local residents ▲ conduct education and promotional activities on proper recyclable separation and disposal.
The district expects that the activities of the resource management assistants will help create a clean residential environment, improve the quality of separated disposal by pre-removing foreign substances, solve local environmental issues, and greatly contribute to stabilizing the lives and incomes of vulnerable groups through the creation of public jobs.
Detailed information about the application announcement can be found on the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website. Inquiries can also be made through the Cleaning Department's Resource Recycling Team.
Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “To effectively respond to the increasingly serious environmental problems and create a pleasant and healthy urban environment, separating household waste and promoting resource recycling are essential basic behavioral guidelines. We hope many residents will show interest and participate in the resource management assistant activities to lead the creation of a clean local environment.”
