[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] The owner of a Mercedes-Benz car, accused of occupying two parking spaces in a home shopping building in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, posted an apology on the automotive community site BobaeDream.
However, the owner stated, "I am pregnant and was not feeling well, so I parked hastily without properly checking," adding, "I don't understand why this issue from a month ago is being brought up now."
On the 1st, a post titled "Retaliatory parking against Mercedes-Benz double parking" was uploaded on BobaeDream.
The author, Mr. A, posted a photo showing a white Mercedes-Benz occupying two parking spaces and wrote, "I called 10 times and sent 5 messages. The car was parked in two spots and disappeared for an hour. Angry, I retaliated by parking in a blocking manner two hours later." Mr. A also attached a photo of his retaliatory parking.
He parked his car very close to the Mercedes-Benz, blocking the driver's door from opening.
Mr. A said he tried contacting the phone number on the vehicle but could not reach anyone, adding, "there was only one spot left, so I carefully managed to park there," and "I was so upset after the trouble that, although embarrassed, I went back two hours later to retaliate by parking obstructively."

Mr. A wrote, "The home shopping show host, who is the car owner, was very confrontational as soon as they arrived. They bluntly said, 'I parked like this to mess with you,' and acted as if they did nothing wrong," continuing, "It was raining, so I decided to take the bus safely. I admit I was wrong and feel ashamed and regretful."
Netizens who saw the post made various speculations about the identity of the Mercedes-Benz owner.
A home shopping show host, who was mistakenly identified as the car owner, said, "I am not the Mercedes-Benz owner, but my name keeps being mentioned and I am receiving messages, which makes me angry and scared," pleading, "Please stop the comments and messages," expressing distress.
The next day, on the 2nd, a post titled "I am the Mercedes-Benz owner who double parked" was uploaded on BobaeDream. The owner apologized, saying, "I sincerely apologize for not properly following the parking lines. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant, and on that day, I was feeling very unwell and it was raining, so I was a bit late for the scheduled broadcast. I parked hastily and went to the broadcast without checking properly."
Regarding not responding to Mr. A's contact attempts, the owner explained it was due to the broadcast schedule, and about Mr. A's claim that there were no parking spots, said, "On weekends, only broadcast staff come to work, so there are many spots available. I was confused as to why this happened."
The Mercedes-Benz owner explained that her husband and another staff member politely asked Mr. A to move his car, but Mr. A was uncooperative, and eventually moved the car two hours later.
However, during the process of moving the car, Mr. A scratched the Mercedes-Benz, resulting in repair costs of 1.5 million KRW being charged to the Mercedes-Benz owner.
The Mercedes-Benz owner said, "I acknowledge my mistakes, so I did not rent a car and compensated without insurance as Mr. A requested. I don't understand why I am being subjected to this pain suddenly after more than a month."
