[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency (Chief Yoon Byung-doo) Yeosu Rotary Wing Aviation Unit (Commander Yang Hoe-cheol) announced on the 3rd that on the 1st, in celebration of the 99th Children's Day and Family Month, they jointly visited underprivileged facilities in the Yeosu area with Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority.

Every year on Children's Day, they have invited children to Yeosu Airport for helicopter tours and boarding experiences, but since last year, due to the continuation of COVID-19 social distancing, the two organizations replaced the event by visiting the children directly.

Accordingly, the Yeosu Aviation Unit and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority strictly adhered to life quarantine rules such as wearing masks and maintaining personal distancing to prevent the spread and infection of the COVID-19 virus, visited a certain orphanage in Yeosu, spent time socializing with the children, and delivered individual gift sets and electric rice cookers.

During the event, employees of the Aviation Unit and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority introduced various jobs in the Coast Guard and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority through drone flying experiences (drone fishing) and social time with the children, instilling dreams and hopes for new careers as the children grow.

After the event, the Aviation Unit also conducted thorough disinfection of the venue using quarantine drones.

Commander Park Je-su of the Aviation Unit said, “I think it was meaningful to deliver warm interest and love to the children through this Children's Day event,” and added, “I hope it provided a small comfort to children who have difficulty going out and engaging in outdoor activities due to COVID-19.”
