[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 3rd that it will carry out the 'Essential Environment Campaign' together with its customers.
Through the 'Essential Environment Campaign,' Kookmin Bank will engage in eco-friendly activities such as reducing paper passbooks, decreasing electricity usage, minimizing food waste, and cutting down on disposable products.
To reduce paper usage, the bank, which has continuously improved passbook-based counter services such as 'manual withdrawal,' plans to further reduce unnecessary direct mail (DM) and actively utilize electronic DM notifications.
In addition, to reduce electricity consumption, which accounts for a large portion of carbon emissions, KB Kookmin Bank maintains appropriate indoor temperatures within its office buildings and turns off unnecessary lighting to reduce daily electricity use. Furthermore, within this year, it plans to convert more than 400 business vehicles to hybrid vehicles. Following the installation of solar panels on seven buildings owned by the bank, an additional 15 locations will have solar power facilities installed this year.
President Heo In stated, “Our small actions can come together to create a sustainable future,” and added, “KB will continue to lead ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management through various activities.”
