Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center Recruiting 'Social Economy Youth Supporters'

Young Adults (19-34) in Dongdaemun-gu Interested in Social Economy... Benefits Include Current Mentoring, Social Economy Education Programs, and Opportunities to Contribute to Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy White Paper

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center (Director: Choi Geun-yeong), which is celebrating its 5th anniversary since opening in 2021, is recruiting ‘Youth Supporters’ to collaboratively create special content for the 5th anniversary edition of the Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy White Paper, published annually.

The ‘Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy Youth Supporters’ program provides educational programs to young people in Dongdaemun-gu interested in social economy, helping them deepen their understanding and interest in Dongdaemun-gu’s social economy and supporting them to create content themselves.

The selected ‘Youth Supporters’ will participate under the guidance of active mentors in ▲content creation training ▲monthly content production meetings ▲content editing and proofreading processes. The completed content will be featured on the Dongdaemun Social Economy Center’s online channels and included in the 2021 Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy White Paper.

The recruitment targets are residents of Dongdaemun-gu aged 19 to 34, or university students and workers located in Dongdaemun-gu. Applications must be downloaded from the Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center website, completed, and submitted via email (master@eastse.net) by 6 p.m. on May 10.

Director Choi Geun-yeong said, “I hope that through supporter activities, young people in Dongdaemun-gu will develop greater interest in social economy,” adding, “I hope social economy becomes a platform where youth’s creative activities communicate with future generations.”

Introduction to Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy Support Center: The ‘Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center’ carries out the ‘Autonomous District Social Economy Integrated Support Center Project’ to support the establishment and management activities of social economy organizations such as cooperatives, social enterprises, and village enterprises within Dongdaemun-gu. It also promotes various community innovation projects such as the ‘DDM Job Development Plant Project’ and ‘Itda Market’ to revitalize the local social economy together with residents.

The Dongdaemun-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center is supported and operated by Seoul Metropolitan City and Dongdaemun-gu under the ‘Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Social Economy in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Ordinance No. 1199).’ As of 2021, it is operated by the ‘Social Cooperative Dongsagyeong Center.’
