[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 30th that it will implement the 2021 Information and Communication Assistive Devices Distribution Project.
This project allows applicants to apply for a total of 116 types of information and communication assistive devices according to the type of disability, including text readers, magnifiers, braille information terminals, touch monitors, special mice and keyboards, communication assistive devices, and screen reading software that help people with disabilities access information.
Eligible applicants are people with disabilities and national merit recipients with disabilities. If selected as a beneficiary through screening, 80% of the device price will be supported. Basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups will receive support ranging from 90% to 95% (varies by device).
The application period is from May 1 to June 18. Applications can be submitted online through the Information and Communication Assistive Devices Distribution website.
Applications can also be submitted by visiting or mailing to the Gimhae City Information and Communication Office. For mail submissions, only those arriving by the deadline will be accepted, and applicants must confirm receipt by phone.
The selection results will be individually notified on July 16 and announced on the Gyeongsangnam-do Province website. Products will be delivered after the payment of the personal contribution.
