Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch, '#VacanceBottari' Exhibition... Online VR Tour Available Hyundai Department Store will hold the '#VacanceBottari' exhibition at the Hyundai Children's Book Museum located on the 5th floor of the Pangyo branch until August 29.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Hyundai Department Store announced on the 30th that it will hold the ‘#VacanceBottari’ exhibition at the Hyundai Children’s Book Museum located on the 5th floor of the Pangyo branch until August 29.

This exhibition showcases over 200 picture works reinterpreting old stories by the Vacance Project, an artist book group consisting of 11 representative Korean picture book authors including Shin Dongjun, Kang Hyesook, Lee Suji, Jung Jinho, and Seo Hyun.

To ensure safe exhibition viewing, the Hyundai Children’s Book Museum will enforce mandatory temperature checks and entry log registration, and strengthen quarantine measures by disinfecting every hour. In particular, it will operate a separate online exhibition website offering a free ‘VR Museum Tour’ service that allows visitors to experience the exhibition virtually without visiting the museum in person.

The online exhibition website offers various interactive activities for children. Representative activities include a picture story relay where each child draws one scene of a story to complete a picture book, and “What’s in the Bottari?” where children draw materials from old stories such as dokkaebi (Korean goblins), the Dragon King, and thatched houses, which were expressed by the artists in their works. Additionally, interactive art content that allows visitors to enjoy the exhibited works like a mobile game will be introduced next month.

A Hyundai Department Store official said, “This exhibition has expanded online content compared to previous exhibitions so that children can safely access the exhibition from home even in the with-COVID-19 era,” and added, “We plan to continue offering various contents so that children can freely experience culture and arts anywhere.”
