[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] CoAsia announced on the 30th that its subsidiary in the camera module business division, CoAsia CMBNA, has been selected as Samsung Electronics' EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Best Partner.
The EHS partner selection is conducted twice a year through evaluations by the 'Global Corporate Social Responsibility Alliance (RBA)' organized by Samsung Electronics' Vietnam Complex. The criteria include the impact on the environment and resources in the manufacturing process, a safe and healthy working environment, and the quality of products and services.
RBA is an initiative in the global electronics industry, formed as an alliance to fulfill social responsibility by complying with international standards within the global supply chain. Over 160 companies, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Apple, and Intel, are members.
A CoAsia official stated, "This means that our management and quality capabilities have been recognized as suitable for the corporate code of conduct emphasized by RBA," adding, "It is part of the movement aligned with the recent global ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management trend that strengthens social responsibility."
CoAsia CMBNA is a company that manufactures and sells camera modules, recording approximately 303.8 billion KRW in sales last year. It mainly produces camera modules for Samsung Electronics smartphones.
A company representative explained, "We will achieve sustainable management with high-quality products and services in line with Samsung Electronics' global number one smartphone market share," and added, "We also aim to create synergy effects with CoAsia Optics, which produces lenses."
