Miryang Cultural Foundation to Operate Miryanggang Hope Light Street from May 3

"Bumblebee and Minions Appeared on the Miryanggang River!" Bumblebee by artist Kim Hu-cheol to be exhibited at the Hope Light Street along the Miryang River in Miryang-si, Gyeongnam

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] The Gyeongnam Miryang Cultural Foundation announced on the 29th that it will operate the ‘Miryanggang Hope Light Street’ along the Miryang River in front of Yeongnamnu from May 3 to 31 for one month.

This project was prepared to create an atmosphere full of family love and camaraderie in celebration of Family Month, to give hope to citizens exhausted by COVID-19, and to express the wish to overcome it with one heart and one mind.

The ‘Miryanggang Hope Light Street’ is divided into eight zones including the Miryang River embankment and Yeongnamnu, operating as photo zones during the day and as a splendid light street at night.

In the Yeongnamnu area, there is an exhibition of colorful hope moons, and along the Miryang River embankment, visitors can enjoy item lighting and cartoon character lanterns with family and lovers, as well as Transformers and Minions by artist Kim Hu-cheol, famous for junk art.

For inquiries related to the event, please contact the Miryang Cultural Foundation.

A representative of the Miryang Cultural Foundation said, “We planned this exhibition with the hope of offering some comfort and hope to our citizens weary from social distancing,” adding, “We will continue to develop more planned exhibitions that provide small joys while strictly adhering to quarantine measures.”
