According to Jeonnam Province on the 29th, Governor Kim stated in a welcome message for the Lee Kun-hee collection donation, "Jeonnam now houses excellent works by nine masters, including Heo Baek-ryeon, Oh Ji-ho, Kim Whanki, and Chun Kyung-ja, who are great figures in Korean art from Jeonnam, as well as Kim Eun-ho, Yoo Young-guk, Lim Jik-soon, Yoo Kang-yeol, and Park Dae-sung, who represent modern and contemporary Korean art."
He continued, "This is a valuable gift that brings inspiration to the citizens weary from COVID-19 and will greatly help elevate the dignity and exhibition standards of the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, which opened last month," adding, "I hope this donation will further activate the 'Mecenat Movement' that gives hope to cultural artists."
He also said, "We will do our best to ensure that more people can appreciate and enjoy the artworks in honor of the donor's beautiful intention," and added, "We extend our deep gratitude to the family of Chairman Lee Kun-hee for donating these precious works."
