[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 29th that it has signed a win-win cooperation business agreement with Donggang University (President Lee Minsuk) and Chosun Institute of Science and Technology (President Jo Soon-gye) to foster specialized drone personnel.
This agreement was prepared to cultivate customized personnel in response to social changes such as the 4th Industrial Revolution era and the Korean New Deal policy.
Each institution agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲operating education programs for nurturing talent in the drone field ▲conducting training to strengthen the drone industry response capabilities of Buk-gu public officials and residents ▲sharing excellent instructors among institutions.
Starting next month, Donggang University and Chosun Institute of Science and Technology plan to provide drone coding education, drone aerial photography, and spatial information data construction courses targeting employees, job seekers, re-employed individuals, and those with career interruptions.
Meanwhile, last year, Buk-gu was designated and has been operating the Buk-gu Drone Flight Practice Field as the first drone national certification permanent practical test site in special/metropolitan cities and the first drone park in the Honam region to foster the drone industry and build 4th industrial infrastructure.
The drone permanent practical test is conducted every Tuesday and Wednesday, and on weekends, three programs?basic drone experience class, introductory class, and aerial photography class?are offered free of charge to promote citizens' leisure activities.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “We will continue to promote various cooperative projects with related institutions such as universities and companies to foster the drone industry and create a drone-specialized city.”
