Yeongdeok-gun Selects 3 Groups for 'Rural Village Revitalization Challenge' Contest Project

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk announced on the 29th that it selected three organizations?Yeongdeok Seunong Cooperative Council, Jeongbohwa Yeongdeok Snow Crab Village, and Lululala Experience School?in the rural village revitalization challenge project contest.

Among these organizations, Yeongdeok-gun plans to select one top team after the completion of the contest project and provide incentives. Additionally, it intends to continuously support them by utilizing the organizations as intermediate support organizations, which are a prerequisite for the rural agreement contest project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Since 2005, Yeongdeok-gun has been operating nine centers in designated areas for general agricultural and fishing village development projects. However, due to aging facilities and COVID-19, it has not shown significant results. Accordingly, Yeongdeok-gun explained that it promoted a small-scale challenge project contest to revitalize the region.

Lee Hee-jin, the mayor of Yeongdeok-gun, stated, "For regional revitalization, it is most important to communicate and cooperate with residents and explore various ways to utilize facilities." He pledged, "Through this rural regional village revitalization, we will do our best to improve the quality of life for local residents."
