Menu Code Data Standardization Development Completed
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Delivery Hero Korea (CEO Kang Shin-bong), which operates the delivery app 'Yogiyo,' announced on the 29th that it has completed the data standardization development work to refine and standardize menu codes for approximately 30 million individual menus currently on sale.
'Menu code standardization' is a technology that aggregates menu information, which is sold differently by each store even if it is the same menu, into a single 'standard menu' and converts it into data. For example, it distinguishes 'jjajangmyeon' and 'jajangmyeon' as one menu, building a data technology foundation that can recognize the same menu even if different menu names are used by each restaurant.
Yogiyo plans to use this technology to provide more precise personalized services to customers. Both ordering customers and restaurant partners can experience richer personalization services, which have recently been highlighted as key topics in the platform market. Specifically, consumers will receive more accurate and refined menu recommendation services, and restaurant partners can receive systematic growth consulting to improve store operations and increase sales through reports created by Yogiyo using menu code standardization.
Yogiyo intends to fully apply the menu code standardization technology within the first half of the year after sufficient testing. Cho Hyun-joon, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Delivery Hero Korea, stated, "Through this menu code standardization work, we will provide convenient and innovative service experiences to both customers and restaurant partners," adding, "We will continue to strive to offer fresh service experiences to customers through ongoing R&D innovation."
