Korea Technology to Hold IR Presentation on the 17th of Next Month with Subsidiary Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Korea Technology, a KOSDAQ-listed company (CEO Shin Yonggu), announced on the 29th that it will hold an IR briefing session on May 17th at 2 PM in the training room on the 8th floor of Korea Technology's headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, following the opinions of the Korea Technology & Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction Joint ESG Management Committee.


The briefing session, attended by Korea Technology CEO Shin Yonggu and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction CEO Seo Boknam, is held to transparently disclose the governance of the company and its subsidiaries and to strengthen communication with shareholders in accordance with the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) management philosophy.


All institutional and individual investors can participate without distinction, and the event will be conducted in strict compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines.


Korea Technology CEO Shin Yonggu stated, "We have already adjusted the ratio of inside and outside directors to 50% through an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders last year," adding, "We have carefully selected the industry's top experts to stabilize group governance and pursue management transparency."


Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction CEO Seo Boknam said, "This briefing session was organized to inform all shareholders that Korea Technology and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction are practicing transparent management, and at the same time, to explain the eco-friendly energy business, such as offshore wind power, which has become a new growth engine."


Recently, despite the difficult construction market due to COVID-19, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction's operating profit increased by more than 600%, improving its financial condition and resulting in a credit rating upgrade.


Meanwhile, on the 1st, the company established the Korea Technology Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction Joint ESG Management Committee to enhance efficient decision-making and execution within the group. The committee is composed of the industry's top experts, including three inside directors and three outside directors from both companies, as well as one external member.
