Various Promotional Support Including Raising Climate Crisis Awareness Through Showroom for Sustainable Living

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Home furnishing retail company IKEA Korea has signed a business agreement with the '2021 P4G Summit Preparation Planning Group' and the '2021 P4G Seoul Summit' to ensure the successful hosting of the event.
IKEA Korea, as a leading company driving a sustainable future for people and the planet and as a promotional partner of the '2021 P4G Seoul Summit,' plans to carry out various activities supporting South Korea's inclusive green recovery and the realization of carbon neutrality.
P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030) is a global coalition involving government agencies, companies, and civil society collaborating to achieve greenhouse gas reduction targets by 2030, in accordance with the Paris Agreement adopted in 2015. Following the first summit held in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2018, the '2nd P4G Seoul Summit' will be held over two days on the 30th and 31st of next month in Seoul, marking the first environmental summit hosted in South Korea.
The theme of this summit is 'Realizing the Carbon Neutral Vision through Inclusive Green Recovery,' with participation from world leaders, heads of international organizations, corporate representatives, and academia, featuring basic and special sessions.
Notably, at the Business Forum to be held on May 27, Hubertus Maes, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ingka Group, IKEA Korea's parent company, will participate as a keynote speaker, presenting on the paradigm shift in ESG management and a sustainable future.
Through the business agreement, IKEA Korea and the P4G Preparation Planning Group plan to closely cooperate in ▲domestic and international promotion for the successful hosting of the summit ▲raising public awareness about carbon neutrality ▲exchanging information on sustainable social contribution projects.
As part of this, IKEA Korea will set up showrooms composed of home furnishing products that support sustainable living at four stores nationwide?Gwangmyeong, Goyang, Giheung, and Dongbusan?throughout May, inspiring more people to join the movement to protect the planet from the climate change crisis.

Meanwhile, IKEA Korea has launched the 'Korea+Sweden Green Transition Alliance' together with 13 Swedish companies in Korea to contribute to achieving South Korea's carbon neutrality goals. The alliance, joined by the Embassy of Sweden in Korea, the Swedish Trade and Invest Council in Korea, and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Korea, supports Korea's green and carbon neutrality goals and aims to foster cooperation with domestic industry partners.
