Kim Geun-sik "President Moon's '5-person dinner' apology, is it that difficult... [Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] As the government judged that the dinner for five people between President Moon Jae-in and his retiring aides did not violate quarantine rules, Professor Kim Geunsik of Gyeongnam National University, chairman of the People Power Party's Songpa-byeong district in Seoul, sharply criticized, saying, "Is it really that difficult to simply admit and apologize?"

On the 28th, Professor Kim wrote on his Facebook, "Since it was neither a serious crime nor a deliberate mistake, if they coolly say sorry in front of the people, the public would rather come forward and understand," adding, "The people are not criticizing the president's mistakes. They are frustrated by the stubborn refusal to admit the wrongdoing."

Professor Kim also said, "The same goes for the purchase of the private residence land after retirement," and added, "If it was unavoidable to purchase farmland for security and protection, and thus had to submit a farming plan, and if the president honestly admitted feeling a sense of self-disgust for having to write that he has 11 years of farming experience himself and asked for understanding, which citizen would curse?"

He continued, "This time, it was a farewell dinner for the hardworking aides, and if they honestly admit and apologize for the mistake of violating quarantine rules by saying 'I was thoughtless' and 'I'm sorry,' it would just pass," and criticized, "It was a farewell dinner to comfort the departing aides, and the Blue House explained it as a heartwarming story that the president personally raised a glass, but now that it has become an issue, are they saying it was an official occasion to receive advice on state affairs?"

He added, "Kim Eo-jun, who held a 'mask-down' gathering of more than five people in Mapo-gu, also insisted until the end that it was a work meeting, so is the Blue House also denying to the end that the president's dining with more than five people was an official act?" and urged, "Even now, the president should come forward and admit the mistake himself."
