[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Jinju Cultural City Support Center in Jinju, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it has launched the Jinju-style Citizen Culture School Youth Coordinator Training Course online at the Jinju Cultural City Support Center.

The Citizen Culture School, operated under the center's supervision, consists of three courses: Citizen Culture Planning Course, Youth Coordinator Training Course, and Advanced Course.

Until now, citizens who only enjoyed culture can now discover historical and cultural resources scattered throughout the region, creatively plan and participate, enabling them to experience cultural and artistic activities in more diverse ways.

The course includes 11 local youths (including university students) residing in the area and will run for 8 weeks until June 16.

Special lectures will cover topics such as the cultural city Jinju created by youth, pride and challenges of the cultural city Jinju, cultural planning and festivals, street and performing arts planning, and how everyday culture and arts change the daily lives of cultural citizens.

Lee Soo-kyung, Secretary General of the Jinju Cultural City Support Center, said, “This is a process to cultivate experts who can work locally, beyond just an interest in cultural planning. We hope all participating trainees become cultural planners and contribute to the region.”

Meanwhile, outstanding students who complete two courses of the Citizen Culture School will have the opportunity to participate in the Citizen Leader Training Course (advanced practical course) to be opened by the center in the future. The Citizen Leader Training Course is scheduled to open at the end of June.
