Market Kurly Expands 'Saetbyeol Delivery' Nationwide with CJ Logistics

Market Kurly Expands 'Saetbyeol Delivery' Nationwide with CJ Logistics Market Kurly will expand its dawn delivery service, Saetbyeol Delivery, nationwide within this year, starting with the Chungcheong region including Daejeon and Sejong on the 1st of next month.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Market Kurly announced on the 27th that it will expand its dawn delivery service, Saetbyeol Delivery, nationwide within this year, starting from the Chungcheong region including Daejeon and Sejong on the 1st of next month.

Market Kurly has partnered with CJ Logistics, the largest logistics company in Korea, to provide Saetbyeol Delivery service to five cities in the Chungcheong region: Daejeon Metropolitan City (Seo-gu and Yuseong-gu), Sejong Special Self-Governing City, Cheonan, Asan, and Cheongju. In the second half of this year, the service area will be expanded to the southern regions such as Yeongnam and Honam, extending Saetbyeol Delivery nationwide.

Market Kurly’s Saetbyeol Delivery is a service that delivers orders placed before 11 PM to the customer's doorstep before 7 AM the next day using a full cold chain method. Until now, Market Kurly has operated Saetbyeol Delivery only in Seoul and the metropolitan area, while other regions outside the metropolitan area have been served with next-day delivery.

On the 27th, Market Kurly and CJ Logistics signed a business agreement at CJ Logistics headquarters to expand Saetbyeol Delivery nationwide, attended by Kim Seul-ah, CEO of Market Kurly, and Kang Shin-ho, CEO of CJ Logistics. Through this agreement, Kurly has established a foundation to actively utilize CJ Logistics’ stable logistics infrastructure.

When Market Kurly packages fresh food in optimal condition at its logistics centers in the metropolitan area and ships them out, CJ Logistics’ refrigerated vehicles handle the transportation of products to customers’ homes. CJ Logistics first moves the products to its own logistics center in the Chungcheong region, then sorts them by address before final delivery to the customer’s doorstep. The Saetbyeol Delivery in the Chungcheong region also operates using the full cold chain method.

Kim Seul-ah, CEO of Market Kurly, said, “The synergy is expected to be high as Kurly’s know-how in fresh food dawn delivery, which was first introduced in Korea, combines well with CJ Logistics’ excellent logistics infrastructure. We will actively cooperate to expand Saetbyeol Delivery nationwide so that more consumers can purchase fresh and high-quality products.”
