Namseoul Nonghyup Supports Agricultural Machinery and Provides Interest-Free Advances to Practice Urban-Rural Win-Win Cooperation

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Namseoul Nonghyup (Chairman An Yong-seung) delivered two agricultural product transport vehicles (worth 26 million KRW) and 900 million KRW in interest-free advance payments at the 'Urban-Rural Win-Win Agricultural Machinery and Interest-Free Advance Payment Ceremony' held at Saenamhae Nonghyup on the 23rd.

This event reflects the value of Namseoul Nonghyup, which has actively practiced urban-rural win-win cooperation as an urban agricultural cooperative. Since 1998, Namseoul Nonghyup has promoted consumer price stability and increased farmers' income by operating direct transaction markets that provide agricultural products harvested in production areas to urban residents at affordable prices.

In particular, to alleviate farmers' financial difficulties for farming funds, it has supported a total of 142.8 billion KRW in interest-free advance payments since 2004. This year, to support farmers struggling due to COVID-19, it plans to provide 16 billion KRW in interest-free advance payments to 26 production area Nonghyups. Separately, a budget of 300 million KRW has been allocated to support agricultural machinery and farming materials to production area Nonghyups to promote agricultural infrastructure development and improve agricultural productivity.

Chairman An Yong-seung said, "Urban-rural win-win cooperation is the top priority and duty of metropolitan agricultural cooperatives, and we will actively practice urban-rural win-win cooperation for production area Nonghyups and farmers with this conviction."
