Imsil-gun Creates Four-Season Flower Garden at National Tourist Site 'Saseondae'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] A flower garden that is beautiful in all four seasons will be created at Saseondae, a representative national tourist destination in Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk.

On the 23rd, Imsil-gun announced that it will plant moss phlox, four-season roses, pink muhly, and more inside the Saseondae Sculpture Park, which attracts about 100,000 tourists annually, to create a year-round tourist flower garden.

Once the tourist flower garden is completed, the existing four-season roses, azaleas, and other plants will harmonize to offer visitors an even more beautiful landscape.

County Governor Sim Min is also pouring special affection into the creation of the Saseondae flower bed.

On the 22nd, Governor Sim visited Saseondae, which has gained great popularity as a family-oriented, non-face-to-face ecological tourist site due to COVID-19, to inspect the flower bed construction site.

This on-site inspection was conducted amid growing interest in safe travel due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, as Saseondae is gaining attention as a tourist destination that helps relieve COVID-19 fatigue and depression.

In fact, Saseondae continues its reputation as a representative tourist destination and national tourist site of Imsil-gun, along with Okjeongho Lake, Imsil Cheese Theme Park, and Seongsusan Mountain.

Its geographical proximity to the Jeonju area, outstanding natural scenery, wide lawns, and lakes make it a healing tourist spot for urban residents exhausted by COVID-19.

Saseondae, named for the place where four immortals played, is highly regarded for its outstanding scenery, and in 1985, an area of 116,000㎡ around Saseondae was designated as a national tourist site.

Since 2014, the county has invested a total of 8.5 billion KRW over five years to create a nature-friendly ecological park, attracting many tourists.

Governor Sim Min said, “Once the Saseondae flower garden is created, many people tired and struggling due to COVID-19 will visit from all over the country to find comfort for their hearts. We will create a safe tourist destination where beautiful memories can be made all year round and where visitors can feel safe and want to return.”
