Announcement of Changwon City Public Officials' Real Estate Speculation Full Investigation Results ... Postponed to May

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province plans to release the results of the 'Comprehensive Real Estate Survey of Public Officials' in May.

Originally, Changwon City intended to conduct an investigation into speculation and make a first interim announcement by mid-April at the latest. However, the city auditor announced on the 23rd that the final results will be released in May, one month later than initially scheduled.

In a phone call with reporters on the 23rd, a city auditor official explained, "The delay is due to the large amount of data to be compiled during the investigation process and the need to conduct legal reviews simultaneously."

He added, "The first interim announcement, originally planned for mid-April, will now be replaced by the final results to be announced in May." The focus will be on examining whether public officials hold land in development project areas and any illegal matters.

Earlier, the city held a press conference on the 15th of last month to announce a special comprehensive investigation into real estate speculation by public officials.

The targets are 27 projects in four sectors?residential land, industrial complexes, tourism, and park development?led by Changwon City since the launch of the integrated city in 2010. All employees at Changwon City Hall at grade 7 or higher, as well as current and former officials involved in the work, are subject to the investigation. For public officials at grade 5 or higher, immediate family members are also included.
