[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service will conduct the second round of the Tree Doctor examination this month in Daejeon.
On the 23rd, the Korea Forest Service announced that on the 24th, the second round of the "4th Tree Doctor Qualification Examination" will be held at Chungnam Girls' Middle School in Jung-gu, Daejeon, hosted by the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute.
The exam consists of descriptive written and practical tests, each scored out of 100 points. Candidates must score at least 40 points per subject and have an overall average of 60 points or higher to pass.
Those who pass the exam and obtain the Tree Doctor qualification can diagnose and prescribe treatments for tree damage at tree hospitals, as well as perform damage prevention and treatment tasks.
The final successful candidates will be announced on July 14th through the Tree Doctor Qualification Examination website of the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute.
Meanwhile, the Korea Forest Service has been conducting the Tree Doctor qualification exam at least once a year since the first exam on April 27, 2019. To date, a total of 289 individuals have passed the exam.
The application period for the 5th Tree Doctor Qualification Examination is from June 7th to 14th, with the exam scheduled for July 17th.
Kang Hye-young, head of the Forest Pest Control Division at the Korea Forest Service, stated, "In response to the increasing demand for green spaces in living areas, we will strive to produce Tree Doctors so that proper tree care can be provided in daily life through experts."
