[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Public institutions, large corporations, and smart factory suppliers are joining forces to resolve post-implementation utilization difficulties of smart factory adopters and to promote the digitalization of production sites in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 23rd that it held a smart factory supplier alliance formation ceremony with SK Telecom and the Korea Smart Factory Data Association (hereinafter KASAD). The smart factory supplier alliance is composed of fields such as ▲solutions ▲data collection ▲equipment monitoring. Additionally, centered on supplier companies, it plans to expand mutual exchange and cooperation bases with partners, large corporations, and related associations to establish a win-win model for revitalizing smart factories.
For companies participating in the smart factory post-management support project, which are experiencing difficulties in discovering performing companies, matching with alliance participating supplier companies will be supported considering region and industry. Supplier company experts will provide customized information to job managers considering the smart factory level and production management level of the adopter companies.
Furthermore, in collaboration with KASAD and SK Telecom, data collection devices and software capable of real-time monitoring of smart factory equipment operation status, anomaly detection, and production volume will be provided free of charge for one year. Choi Hak-su, Head of Innovation Growth Division at SBC, stated, "Starting from the metropolitan area, we will expand the supplier alliance nationwide to actively support the resolution of difficulties and digital transformation of adopter companies," adding, "As the dedicated institution for smart factory post-management, SBC will also strive to lead the success of the project by providing various policy supports to strengthen the capabilities of supplier companies, including policy funds, training, and technology export."
